COMPLETE PROJECTS
DRILLING, EQUIPPING OF BOREHOLES AND ASSOCIATED CIVIL WORKS
Under the funding of World Bank and the Government of Kenya, Tanathi Water Service Board is supervising the drilling, equipping of 21 boreholes and associated civil works in Kajiado, Makueni, Machackos, and Kitui Counties. The project is to serve 60,000 people with clean water. The project components were drilling, equipping and associated civil works (pipeline, elevated steel tank, water kiosks and pump house).
Matungulu Water Supply Project
Matungulu Water Supply Projectis (98% complete) in Machakos County is funded by Kenya-Italy Debt for Development Programme. The project will serve 28,800 people with clean water. The project components are drilling and equipping of one borehole, construction of one Grade 9 house, laying of a 5km rising main, construction of 1,500m3 of reinforced concrete tank, laying of 15Km gravity main line, fabrication and erection of 250m3 and100m3 elevated steel tanks & construction of six water kiosks. The daily production capacity is 720m3
MIGWANI WATER SUPPLY PROJECT
Migwani Water Supply Project (80% complete) in Kitui County is funded by Kenya-Italy Debt for Development Programme. The project will serve 15,000 people with clean water. The projects components were drilling of 2 boreholes, equipping of one (1) borehole, construction of 3 tanks and laying of 22Km pipeline. The daily production capacity is 992m3.
WORLD BANK PROJECTS FUNDED THROUGH ATHI WATER SERVICES BOARD
Wote, Mwala and Amboseli water supply projects entails rehabilitation and augmentation of water supplies in Mwala, Wote and Amboseli towns which will serve 26,000 people with clean water in Machakos, Makueni and Kajiado Counties. The projects are ongoing
MASINGA - KITUI WATER SUPPLY AND SANITATION
Masinga-Kitui water supply was funded by Africa development Bank and the Government of Kenya. It was completed in June 2015. The project will serve 360,000 people with water and 25,000 with sewage system water within Kitui town. The project components were Intake works and treatment works of capacity 9,000m3/day, a 13Km rising main, a 90Km distribution line, 2 reinforced concrete tanks 3,000m3 and 1,500m3; steel elevated tank 150m3 and Kitui town sewerage
Equipping of Boreholes drilled by UNICEF Program
The equipping of boreholes drilled by UNICEF Program in Kitui and Kajiado will eventually serve 26,000 people with clean water and in some of the borehole sites contractors are on site through the National Government funding and others boreholes have been equipped boreholes from Kajiado County have been funded during the Phase I of the Drought programme and one borehole has been planned for in the Phase II of the Drought programme.
KAJIADO TOWN WATER SUPPLY
Kajiado town water supply project was funded by Kenya Italy Dept development program and the Government of Kenya. The project components were equipping 2 boreholes, fabrication and erection of a 250m3 pressed steel elevated tank and laying a 200mm diameter gravity line of 12Km
REHABILITATION OF YATTA CANAL
The rehabilitation of Yatta Canal and Water Supply/System is funded by Africa Development Bank and the Government of Kenya. The project is expected to serve 1,000 farmer and 50,000 residents with clean water. The project components were rehabilitation of the Yatta canal with reinforced concrete, office block, cattle troughs, water off takes and staff houses. The project also improved the access road to marum and the capacity of water passing through the canal
