INTERNAL ADVERTISEMENT FOR ASSISTANT CONTRACTS STAFF REF: AWWDA/TAWWDA/KTSWSSP/ 1/2019
Tanathi Water Works Development Agency (TAWWDA) is a State Corporation under the Ministry of Water and Sanitation. It is mandated to plan and develop/expand infrastructure for bulk water supply and waste water in Kitui, Makueni, Machakos and Kajiado Counties.
TAWWDA in collaboration with AWWDA are implementing the Kenya Towns Water and Sanitation Programme through financing from the African Development Bank. The projects are being implemented within Machakos, Kitui and Makueni Counties.
One of the components to be implemented under this programme is Internship and Training of staff. Certificate, Diploma and Degree graduates will be appointed to these projects for capacity building and skills enhancement in the disciplines of Engineering, Sociology, Community development, Environmental Sciences, Communications, ICT, Human Resources and administration.
Successful candidates will enter into contracts with the works contractor for an engagement period as necessary.
1st Cadre TAWWDA Assistant Contracts Staff
Applicants will be required to be holders of a University degree from a reputable University with specialization in any of the following fields:– Engineering, GIS, Information and Communication Technology, Environment, Statistics, Economics, Finance, Accounting, Human Resource Management, Business Administration, Management and Procurement.
2nd Cadre TAWWDA Assistant Contracts Staff
Applicants will be required to be Diploma holders from a reputable Institution with specialization in any of the following fields:– Engineering, GIS, Information and Communication Technology, Environment, Statistics, Economics, Finance, Accounting, Human Resource Management, Business Administration, Management and Procurement.
3rd Cadre TAWWDA Assistant Contracts Staff

Tanathi Water Services Board, is a state corporation under the Ministry of Water and Irrigation
created under section 51 of the Water Act 2002 vide legal Notice No.69 dated 4th June 2008. The
board has the legal mandate of ensuring efficient and economical provision of water services
within its area of jurisdiction which covers Kajiado, Makueni Machakos and Kitui Counties. The
Board is now seeking to recruit a suitable candidates to fill the following positions.

Tanathi Water Works Development Agency (TAWWDA) is a State Corporation under the Ministry of Water & Sanitation and Irrigation created under section 68 of the Water Act 2016 and established vide Kenya Gazette Supplement No.59, Legal Notice No.28 of 26th April 2019. It covers four counties which include: - Kitui, Machakos, Makueni and Kajiado.
TAWWDA was established to undertake the development, maintenance and management of National public water works within its area of jurisdiction; Operate the water works and provide water services as a water service provider, until such a time as responsibility for the operation and management of the water works are handed over to a County Government, Joint Committee, authority of County Governments or water services provider within whose area of jurisdiction or supply the water works is located; Provide reserve capacity for purposes of providing water services where pursuant to Section 103, the regulatory Board orders the transfer of water services functions from a defaulting water services provider to another licensee; Provide technical services and capacity building to such County Governments and water services providers within its area as may be requested and provide to the Cabinet Secretary technical support in the discharge of his or her functions under the Constitution of Kenya and the Water Act 2016.

CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER, JOB GRADE TAWWDA 1 – 1 POST
The Board of Directors for Tanathi Water Works Development Agency are seeking to recruit dynamic, exceptional and visionary leader with good professional and ethical standing to fill the position of the Chief Executive Officer. The successful candidate will execute the mandate of the Agency.
He/she will be reporting to the Board of Directors and be responsible for overseeing all the strategic, operational and financial performance of the organization through effective management.
The successful candidate will be appointed on a contract of three (3) years renewable once for a similar period of time subject to satisfactorily performance and delivery of set performance targets and outcomes set and evaluated by the Board.

The Manager, Strategy, Compliance and Corporate Communication, Job Grade TAWWDA 3, is answerable to the Chief Manager, Corporate Services for Corporate Planning & Strategy, Compliance, Risk Management & Quality Control and Corporate Communication.
The successful candidate will be appointed on a contract of five (5) years renewable once for a similar period of time subject to satisfactorily performance and delivery of set performance targets and outcomes set and evaluated by the Board.
