PROPOSED PROJECTS

Public Private Partnership for Athi River-Mavoko water Supply Improvements

The Proposed Public Private Partnership for Athi River-Mavoko Supply Improvements will be financed by Belgium Government and government of Kenya. The project will serve 500,000 people with clean water in Kajiado and Machakos Counties. The project components are rehabilitation and augmentation of water supply for Mlolongo, Athi River and Kitengela towns. The ‘Due diligence exercise on the contractor’ is complete

Yatta Dam & Yatta Water Supply Project

The Proposed Yatta Dam & Yatta Water Supply Project will be funded by Africa Development Bank and the Government of Kenya. The project will serve Machakos County. The project components are Construction of 30m high dam, water supply to Matuu, Sofia, Katangi towns and their environs together with a Sewerage system for Matuu town

Mwala Cluster Water Supply & Sanitation

The Proposed Mwala Cluster Water Supply & Sanitation will be financed by Africa Development Bank and the government of Kenya. The project is to serve Machakos County in Mwala, Mbiuni, Masii, and Kabaa markets. The daily production capacity will be 10,000m3. The project components are Construction/Augmentation of Water Supply System to serve 270,000 people and Construction of Sanitation Facilities to serve 100,000 people. The evaluation of shortlisted consultants is ongoing

Design of Oloolotikosh Kitengela-Kajiado Water Supply and Sewarege system project

To serve 1,500,000 people ( Water and Sewerage Systems) in Kajiado County.The actual works being Dam construction, Kajiado, Isinya and Kitengela Water Supply and Construction of Kajiado and Kitengela Sewerage System. The project is at procurement stage and is estimated to cost 150 million funded by ADB

Ongata Rongai, Ngong and Mavoko Sewerage project

The proposed Ongata Rongai, Ngong  and Mavoko Sewerage project will be funded by ADF to serve Machakos and Kajiado Counties in Ongata Rongai, Ngong  and Mavoko towns. The total population served will be 750,000 with the sewer system. The ToRs for consultancy services forwarded to ADF for No Objection

Design of Mwania/Miwongoni water supply project

The proposed Design of Mwania/Miwongoni water supply project will be funded by ADF to serve Machakos County in Mwania/Miwongoni areas. The total population served will be 200,000 with water supply. The ToRs for consultancy services forwarded to ADF for No Objection

Mavoko Drinking Water Supply Improvement

To serve 500,000 people (clean water) 250,000 people (sewer system) in Kajiado and Machakos  County.Actual work being Rehabilitation and Augmentation of Water Supply for Syokimau, Mlolongo, Athi River and Kitengela towns.The estimated cost is ksh.2.5 billion and its current status is at Review of Final Designs. Due diligence by a joint team from Treasury, Maji house, AG and Tanathi done in November, 2016.Negotiation between National Treasury and Belgium Government ongoing.

Design of Kitimui Dam and Water Supply Project

To serve over 400,000 people with water in Kitui County. The project will involve Dam construction and Water Supply.The project is on procurement stage and is estimated to cost 110 million funded by ADB.

Mwala Water supply and sanitation project

To serve over 80,000 with clean water and sewerage system. The work will involve intake weir,6000m3 /d treatment plant,1km raising main, Storage tanks,60 km distribution system, Masii Sewerage System and Ablution Blocks. The project is at Procurement stage and is estimated to cost 800 Million funded by ADB.

Machakos Water supply and sewerage project

To serve over 200,000 people with clean water and sewerage system in Machakos County.The work will involve rehabilitation of Maruba dam,10,000 m3 /d treatment plant,5 km raising main,storage tanks,80 km distributing system and Sewerage system.The project is at procurement stage 3.3 billion funded by ADB

Design of Mwania-Miwongoni Water supply

To serve over 200,000 people (Water Supply) in Machakos County.The project will involve Dam construction and will cost 80 million funded by ADB and it is at procurement stage
