Mavoko water project is located at Mavoko ward in Mavoko Constituency in Machakos County.The project is funded by GOK and Belgium Government at a cost of Kshs 2.5B.  A contracted time line of the project was 19/2/2018 to 18/8/2020 but it was extended to May 2021 from 18^th august 2020. Project is expected to supply 17,000m3/day of water to 500,000 residents of the target area.

Contracted scope of works:

1. Independent line from Nairobi Water Company
2. Rehabilitation of Nol-Turesh line
3. de-silting of KMC and Portland dams
4. New Mavoko water treatment works of 10,000m3/day and pumping units,
5. Construction of new pipeline works of over 70km including rehabilitation of the reticulation system.
6. Construction of 2No. 2,500M3 Water storage tanks and 1No. 5,000M3 tank

Overall project status was 93% at the time of visit.
